golden ratio, 2023
Mixed-media installation. Window panels, varied dimensions, wood, window decals, paint.
This work is a playful study of light, geometry, and color theory. The juxtaposition of simple hues and “real-life” pixelation against the vibrant and complex surrounding nature is a commentary on our increasing digital age and dependency on the next “smart” device. I took inspiration from the work of Piet Mondrian and reference the golden ratio and fibonacci sequence. This living work has seen two chapters: 1) an installation on UC Berkeley campus and 2) an installation at Albany Bulb by the Berkeley Marina.
My focus was on the act of slowing down my process. Being precise in my measurements. Careful with my craft. Graceful with every act of labor in this work.

03.23.23. In it’s first iteration as a living work, I installed my piece on the campus of UC Berkeley outside the Art Practice building.
ALBANY BULB.
ALBANY BULB.
04.24.23. In it’s second iteration as a living work, I installed my piece at the Albany Bulb down by the Berkeley Marina. It is a space that is frequently filled with community artists’ work for anyone to enjoy.
